ZTE has become known for launching budget friendly smartphones, but with the debut of the ZTE’s ZMAX 2 it’s noted that size doesn’t necessarily have to be sacrificed at the expense of cost. AT&T just revealed the prepaid ZTE ZMAX 2 which sports a large 5.5” display, and is priced to sell at only $149. The latest debut of ZTE is one of the biggest, and maintains the budget minded price that consumers have come to expect.
The official unveiling of the ZMAX 2 is AT&T’s latest endeavor of enticing consumers to notice their prepaid smartphones. Boasting a 5.5” display with a 720 x 1280 resolution, Snapdragon 1.2GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 8MP camera, 3000 mAh battery, and a 4G LTE connectivity. The low to mid-range specs will be hard for other manufacturers to compete with when considering the sub $150 price tag.
Consumers will want to understand that the ZTE ZMAX 2 probably won’t be updated very long, and may not see Marshmallow in the distant future, at all. It’ll come pre-loaded with the latest version of Lollipop as Android 5.1.1 is pre-installed. Future AT&T and ZTE updates will be minimal, and will is doubtful to extend very long after the launch.
The AT&T ZTE ZMAX 2 release date is said to be September 25th, and without a contract you can pick one up either online or at your local AT&T store. The $149 launch price is a small price to pay for a new Android handset with mid-range specs and running the latest version of Lollipop. Prepaid smartphones are becoming increasingly popular for those not looking for a monthly payment obligation or long-term commitments.
