After months of speculation, it looks like the September 29th HTC announcement will unveil not one, but two new smartphones. It was thought HTC would unveil the HTC One A9, but it’s looking like we’ll see a Butterfly and M9+ instead. The steady rumors on what was looking to be the unveiling of the A9 is now looking like it’ll be unveiled in October with a huge event expected to be spread out over numerous US cities. It was also rumored HTC would unveil a new smartwatch on the 29th, but now we’re not so sure.
Both the HTC Butterfly 3 and HTC One M9+ are expected to launch in Asia here in a couple of days with the 3rd generation Butterfly being a China exclusive. It was thought the Butterfly 3 would be featured throughout Asia and would make its way to India, but new leaks suggest otherwise.
The Butterfly 3 sports some impressive specs including a 5.1” display, Qualcomm 810 SoC, 3GB RAM, and a 20MP rear-shooter. Little is known on the specs of the premium HTC One M9+ other than it’ll feature a QHD display and fingerprint scanner.
There is a lot of speculation the HTC One M9 Plus will only be launched in Asian markets, and it’s not likely to make its way to India, Europe, and here in the US. The M9+ is said to be an upgraded version of the M9 which launched earlier in the year, and somewhat disappointing.
We’ll bring you all the details on the September 29th launch of both the HTC Butterfly 3 and HTC One M9+ including when, where, and how much.
