Google confirmed the press event that many of us have been waiting for as September 29th looks to the day of multiple, huge announcements. There are huge expectations for Google’s latest unveilings that are expected to announce not one, but two new lines of smartphones and much more.
The September 29th Google event has been speculated for the past couple of weeks, and all eyes are on the new Nexus lineup that consists of both LG and Huawei launching the 2015 model Nexus smartphones. Rumored to be the LG Nexus 5 (2015) or Nexus X with the Huawei Nexus 6 or Nexus 6p are also expected to be unveiled.
The 2015 LG Nexus handset is expected to feature a 5.2” display with a 1080 x 1920 resolution, Qualomm 808 SoC, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, and both 32GB and 64GB of native storage options.
The 2015 Huawei Nexus model is expected to feature a much larger 6” screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution, Qualcomm 810 SoC, 3GB RAM, 12 MP rear camera, 8 MP front camera, and 32GB of native storage. On paper, the Huawei model will be significantly better side by side with the LG model, but only time will tell if these specs will truly be seen.
We’re already hearing that preorders for both 2015 Nexus smartphones will begin October 13th with the official word right after the official unveiling. Google is also expected to unveil the new Chromecast at the September 29th event, and you can bet we’ll have the latest information as soon as it’s official.
