In case you didn’t know, Huawei has its own online store, and they’ve just started preorders for their upcoming handset. The Mate S was announced sometime ago, and until now there’s been no official word on the release date or price. Huawei Mate S preorders are now underway for those living in the UK and Europe, but only on Huawei’s VMall Store.
UK preorders for the Mate S start at £469 while Europe Huawei Mate S preorders are listed at €649. There are more than one option, and depending on where you live you may or may not be able to get your hands on the 128GB Luxury model which features Force Touch.
Both the UK and European versions are fully unlocked which means you’re free from any carrier contract. The UK Huawei Mate S will consist of four options including a Mystic Champagne and 32GB Titanium Grey along with a 64GB and 128GB Luxury Edition.
Those in Europe will only see the Mystic Champagne and Titanium Grey color options with both offering 32GB of onboard storage, with no mention of the 64GB or Force Touch model. As of now, it’s not clear if the larger memory options will be sold outside of the UK on the VMall Store, but it’s almost certain you’ll find them on online retailers such as Amazon in the coming weeks.
The specs include a full HD 5.5” Super Amoled display, Kirin octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 13MP rear camera, and 8MP front camera. Optical image stabilization will enhance the primary camera while the secondary camera will feature an LED flash. A 2720 mAh battery will provide plenty of juice powering the dual SIM handset.
For those who preorder, they’re expected to have a delivery time of 4-6 weeks through the VMall store with the actual Huawei Mate S release date expected to be the beginning of November.
