If you’re looking for an iPhone 6s Plus look-alike, then Huawei has just unveiled one for you. The Huawei Mate S was just unveiled, and there are virtually too many similarities between the two to really distinguish one from the other. The world’s third leading manufacturer has been looking to take the world’s #1 smartphone manufacturer head-on, but we’re not sure that this is truly what consumers had in mind.
The Huawei Mate S was just announced, and right before the unveiling of Apple’s iPhone 6s Plus. At first sight, there are many similarities starting with the glass-like surround, available color options, and much is common noted in the specs department as well.
Both the Mate S and 6s Plus feature a 5.5” display with a 1080p resolution with a slight difference in the rear camera. Huawei’s Mate S sports a 13 MP rear camera while Apple’s 6s Plus sports a 12 MP rear-shooter. Both are marketing the Force Touch Technology with similar marketing patterns for the 3D touch feature.
Both are expected to launch in markets worldwide with the Huawei Mate S release date being a couple of days before the iPhone 6s Plus September 25th release date. Even the price will be similar with Huawei increasing the launch price which is more than their typical flagships with both expected to set you back about $900.
It’ll be interesting to see if Huawei is able to garner attention, and ultimately some of Apple’s consumers or if it will literally send loyal consumers in Apple’s direction.
