We’ve been waiting for the official unveiling of Meizu’s newest premium model handset, and it looks like it’ll be here this time next week. Expected to be made official during the press event on September 23rd is the Meizu Pro 5 which is believed to be a new handset sporting flagship type specs. We’ve been hearing rumors that it’s on the way, and it seems like it’s almost here.
The Meizu Pro 5 specs will be a high-end Phablet boasting a 5.8” display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. There will be two different models, each with a different processor including an Exynos 7420 chipset and a MediaTek Helio X10 SoC.
The specs also include 4GB RAM, 20 MP rear camera, 5 MP rear camera, and 64GB of native storage. What will be missing is the upgraded version of Flyme. It was originally thought that Flyme 5 would be pre-installed, but due to compatibility issues that were just realized it seems like it’ll come later as an OTA update.
The Meizu’s Pro 5 will come pre-installed with Flyme 4.5, but will be upgradeable to 5.0 as soon as the update comes available. It will also feature the latest version of Lollipop with Marshmallow becoming an OTA update sometime later this year, or during the 1st quarter of 2016.
Stay tuned for the Meizu Pro 5 launch announcement on 23rd of September and will update you with the official specs.
