Omate may be one of the top manufacturers of smartwatches that you may not have heard of, and their upcoming lineup will be something worth getting to know. Omate TrueSmart doesn’t sport the name of any of the big guys, but doesn’t mean the brand is something worth overlooking. Both Omate smartwatches are spotted running a full version of Android 5.1 instead of Android Wear which, out of the box gives you a unique appeal that is hard to find with other brands. Both the TrueSmart+ and TrueSmart-i will also run full version of Android apps instead of mobile versions seen on Android Wear.

The Omate TrueSmart+ specs and features include a 1.54” LCD display with a resolution of 320 x 320, MediaTek 1GHz processor, 8GB internal memory, 1GB RAM, and a 700 mAh battery. A unique Bosch sensor will help improve the battery efficiency as it offers less power consumption with many apps that are always on such fitness trackers.

The Omate TrueSmart-i will feature a 1.54” LCD display with a resolution of 240 x 240. It will also boast a 5MP camera, 720p video recording, and instead of Lollipop, will feature the latest version of KitKat.

Both Omate TrueSmart models will feature stand-alone wireless connectivity. With the ability to support a Micro SIM Card that’s compatible with any GSM network, it means you’ll be able to send text messages, make phone calls, and check email without having to be tethered to a smartphone.

Preorders for both models will start on September 22nd with the TrueSmart+ launching in November and the TrueSmart-i launching in October. Both will be competitively priced and well below competitors such as Samsung, Apple, Huawei, and LG. The Omate TrueSmart+ price will only be $169 while the launch price of the TrueSmart-i will be equally impressive at only $149.
