Much of what we do concerning bringing in the very latest info on the top upcoming Android smartphones, and the latest on the Galaxy S8 is arriving a bit early. Early launch rumors on what looks to be three variants of the 2017 launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 include a 5.2” standard model and the 5.3” S8 Edge , and the much anticipated 5.8” Galaxy S8 Edge +.
All three variants will undeniably be three of the hottest smartphones in 2017, and despite the fact there’s still plenty of time left consumer interest is at an all-time high. The Edge concept which first debuted in Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge has continued the trend of dual edge controls in the Galaxy S series.
Both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge launch will come midway through the 2nd quarter of 2016. For those holding out for the S8 Edge + will likely have to wait until Q3 which will be a couple of months later, but slightly before Samsung’s other Phablet, the Galaxy Note 7.
The Galaxy S8 Edge Plus is expected to get an extra inch in size, up from the 5.7” S7 Edge + to 5.8 inches. All three models are also expected to be thinner, and more lightweight that the current model. We’re also expecting the screen of all three models to be much more durable which will help give users the peace of mind from drops and other types of physical damage.
We’re also hearing that all three models will both waterproof and dustproof. Previous years of the S series have neglected both features which has been reserved for the Active model, but we’re hearing this will be a thing of the past. Rumors suggest there won’t be a Samsung Galaxy S8 Active as the added durability and f unique features may become standard in all models of the Galaxy S8.
