It’s amazing how fast information comes out considering the launch of Sony’s Xperia Z5 has just been announced. Already, we’re already hearing a lot of information on the release date and price of the next flagship which will be introduced during the 1st half of next year, and we have the latest rumors.
These new Sony Xperia Z6 release date and price rumors suggest we’ll be seeing the next coming in the famed series sooner, rather than later. There has been a lot of speculation the Japanese tech manufacturer would be moving to a more conventional release date launch cycle, but this doesn’t seem to be the case with the Z6.
According to our friends over at Xperia Z6 Info, three models of the Xperia Z6 including the standard Z6, Z6 Compact, and Z6 Premium would be launched by June 2016. The official unveiling may come as early as May which is pretty consistent their previous launch cycles. This dismisses a lot of speculation suggesting Sony is looking to actually downsize their mobile division due to declining profit margins over the previous few years.
The early rumors on the launch price of all three models may be the best part of what consumers are waiting to hear. We’re hearing the price at launch will actually be cheaper than that of the Z5, and will start in the range of $650-$750 here in the US.
The re-emergence of the Xperia Z series starts right now with the launch of the Xperia Z5 as it proves once again that Sony Mobile can still hang with the big dogs. The Z5 launch announcement came as sort of a surprise, but based on what all three models brings us it was a pleasant surprise for sure.
Hopefully, Sony packs in the Qualcomm 820 SoC and brings back the 4K resolution in the Xperia Z6 display which proved that 4K smartphone displays really do make sense. With plenty of time to come until the expected official announcement, it only means it’ll seem much longer than it really is.
We’ll keep you updated on the launch info for the Sony Xperia Z6 including the release date and price as soon as it’s official. For now, you can check out the full preview to show you all there is to know.
