Meizu has quietly become one of the premiere manufacturers of smartphones, and with their recent pledge of launching higher quality handsets will debut the new Pro smartphone lineup. The Meizu Pro 5 will be the first handset to debut and will sport flagship type specs. The Pro 5 was just revealed, and is expected to appeal to both loyal and new consumers alike.
We’re expecting to see not one, but to different variants with each sporting unique specs. The Meizu Pro 5 specs include one variant featuring an Exynos processor while the other’s expected to feature a deca-core MediaTek SoC. There will also be different options of RAM consisting of a 3 and 4GB model.
Both will share many similarities including a 5.5” display featuring a 2K resolution of 1080 x 1920. It’s interesting to see the 2K display as a Meizu executive has publicly stated that QHD displays aren’t fitting for any smartphone.
Other specs and features include a full-metal body, 32 GB onboard memory, 21 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera, 4G connectivity, and a 3000 mAh battery. A fingerprint scanner will be imbedded into the home screen which is expected to be quite responsive compared to other smartphones.
As of now, there’s no official word on a specific release date or launch price, but we’re expecting the details to be made official here in the next two weeks. I wouldn’t expect to see a price tag of anything less than $599 for the 3GB model and upwards of about $650 for the 4GB model.
We’ll be sure to update you with the official Meizu Pro 5 price and release date as soon as we get it.
