New rumors are materializing on the follow-up to the original Droid Turbo which most analysts believe will become a Verizon exclusive. The Motorola Droid Turbo 2 looks to be introduced in October, and could become available to consumers by the end of the month. The current rumors sound promising considering this October will mark the one year since the original Droid Turbo launched here in the US.
The Droid Turbo 2 rumors suggest it will be one of many Motorola handsets released during Q4 of this year as the Moto X Force is expected to launch just before the holidays. The Moto X Force is believed to sport some pretty impressive specs, but isn’t expected to make it to markets worldwide. The availability, at least for now looks like it’ll only be in larger European markets and China.
The Motorola Droid Turbo 2 rumors suggest we’ll see a 5.4” Quad-HD display and an improved version of Qualcomm’s 810 SoC. The newer 810 processor is believed to be faster and runs cooler than the same chipset we’ve seen in other smartphones.
Other specs include 21 MP rear camera, 3800 mAh battery, and 3GB RAM. There will be two variants available including a 32 and 64GB model. As of now, there’s been no word on the launch price, but we’re expecting Verizon to list the 2nd generation Droid Turbo price in the area of $650 for the 32GB model, and $700 for the 64GB model.
