Qualcomm just debuted their new Quick Charge 3.0 which is noted as significantly better than the Quick Charge 2.0 that most of us rely on any given day. The New Quick Charge technology is said to be significantly faster at charging, being significantly more efficient, and boasts a new technology that determines the power draw needed during each use.
The Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 will debut alongside the new 820 SoC later this year, and will soon be featured alongside most of Qualcomm’s upper echelon processors. It’s been stated that the new 3.0 charging feature will be seen alongside a whole plethora of Snapdragon chipsets including the 430, 617, 618, 620, and 820 SoC. As of yet, there’s no word if the upgraded technology would be featured in smartphones running the 808 or 810, although the assumption is it will.
Comparatively speaking, 3.0 will be nearly 30% faster than 2.0 which will related to a 0% to 80% charge in just over 30 minutes. The newer feature will also be 38% more efficient and reduces power dissipation by up to 45% when pitting it side by side with Qualcomm’s 2.0.
The biggest feature of 3.0 will be in the form of a brand new technology. Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage, or INOV for short means your handheld will be able to determine the specific level of power which is needed for charging which gives you optimum power to the battery itself.
