The Sony Xperia XA1 may not be the flagship you were waiting for, but if you’re looking for a mid-range fully unlocked handset which is priced to sell than this one’s for you. The XA1 and XA1 Ultra were first announced at the Mobile World Congress event earlier this year, and now preorders have begun in both the US and India.
The unlocked Sony Xperia XA1 is competitively priced in both markets at $299 US and Rs 19,990 respectively, and boasts a nice package underneath the sleek, bold design. This unlocked model is gives those looking to be free from any carrier restrictions and will work on any GSM network including AT&T and T-Mobile.
Unlocked Sony Xperia XA1 Specs and Features
Both the locked and unlocked Sony Xperia XA1 will feature Android latest operating system Nougat pre-installed. Aside from Android 7.0, below are the rest of the specs and features those in the US, India, and other parts of the world can expect.
- 5-inch display with a 720p resolution
- 64-bit MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core processor
- 3GB RAM
- 32GB native storage
- Micro SD card support expandable to 256GB memory
- 2,300 mAh battery
- 23 MP rear camera
- 8 MP front camera
As you can see, the price is amazing considering what’s underneath the Xperia XA1, but it does lack a fingerprint scanner which is starting to become a standard feature even in mid-range handsets. Sony has been looking to introduce high-quality handset for a reasonable price, and this unlocked smartphone is a great buy at $299 in the US and only Rs. 19,990 in India.
If you want handheld that’s a big bigger, you may want to hold out for the unlocked Xperia XA1 Ultra which will come in at 6-inches with a full 1080p resolution. The Ultra model won’t be released until later this summer and the price has yet to be announced.
